Hi, welcome to my homepage!

I am Alberto Saa, Professor of Mathematical Physics at the University of Campinas (UNICAMP), Campinas, SP, Brazil, and a former Associate Member of The Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP), Trieste, Italy. I was educated at the University of São Paulo (USP),  from where I received a B.Sc. degree in Physics (1989), a M.Sc. (1992) and a Ph.D. (1994), both in Mathematical Physics, under the supervision of Prof. J. Frenkel. I have spent extended periods of time as a visiting researcher/professor at the Universities of Santiago de Compostela (USC), Barcelona (UB), Zaragoza (UNIZAR), Valencia (UV), and Lisbon (CENTRA-IST), at the Freie Universität Berlin (F.U.), and at the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB). I have also visited regularly the California Institute of Technology (Caltech), our partner in the  (former) US-Brazil Control and Dynamical System Alliance.

I have Spanish (Galician) origin, and hence my full name has two versions: Alberto Vazquez Saa (the Brazilian) and Alberto Saa Vázquez (the Galician). Unfortunately, my name is often misspelt
