Hi, welcome to my new homepage!
I am Alberto Saa,
Professor of
Mathematical Physics at the University of Campinas (UNICAMP),

Brazil, and a former
Associate Member of The Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics
(ICTP),
Trieste,

I was educated at the University of
São Paulo
(USP),

Brazil,
from where I received a B.Sc. degree in Physics (1989), a
M.Sc. (1992) and a
Ph.D. (1994),
both in Mathematical Physics, under the supervision of Prof.
J. Frenkel.
I have spent extended periods of time as a visiting researcher at the Universities of
Santiago de Compostela
(USC) and
Barcelona
(UB),
Spain, at the Freie Universität
Berlin
(F.U.),
Germany,
and at the
Université Libre de Bruxelles
(ULB),
Belgium. I have also visited regularly the California
Institute of Technology (Caltech),
Pasadena,
CA,
USA, our partner in the
US-Brazil Control and Dynamical System Alliance.
I have Spanish (Galician) origin, and hence my full name has two versions: Alberto Vazquez Saa (the Brazilian) and Alberto Saa Vázquez (the Galician). Unfortunately, my name is often misspelt.
